FAQ

The Answers about the Damage Deposit

The Security Deposit is there to cover any costs from potential damage or extra services needed due to actions during your stay. It's a kind of safety net for the property owner, ensuring they won't be left out of pocket if something unexpected happens.

Why do I need to pay a Security Deposit?

Breaking the community rules is a serious issue. It can lead to the non-refund of your Security Deposit, as it may be used to cover any legal costs or penalties arising from such incidents. Always remember to respect your neighbours and the community rules to ensure everyone's comfort and enjoyment. You can also be evicted or sue to the national police.

What happens if I break the rules of the community, like playing loud music or having more guests than allowed?

The cleaning fee is for regular cleaning of the property after your stay. If the property is left in a very messy condition requiring extra cleaning, or if the bins aren't properly used, you might be charged an additional cleaning fee, which will be deducted from your Security Deposit.

What does the cleaning fee cover?

The exact amount of the Security Deposit will be given in your booking offer and the Booking Confirmation email. It's separate from your rental price and must be paid separately. The property owner can adjust the amount based on various factors, like the number of guests or the length of stay, which will be communicated to you before the booking is confirmed.

How much is the Security Deposit, and when do I have to pay it?

You will receive your Security Deposit within seven days of your departure, assuming there are no damages or additional fees to be deducted. Normally the day after the departure and if the funds were secured on the card, it expires after 7 days automatically.

When will I get my Security Deposit back?

If damages are found during your stay, the property owner will inform you as soon as possible, and the cost of repairs will be deducted from your Security Deposit. In case of significant damage, it might take longer than 14 days to return the remaining deposit. If damages cost more than the deposit, you'll be notified about the additional amount due.

What if I cause some damage during my stay?

You can pay by card with no extra cost for stays up to 4 days. For stays of 6 days or longer, a 3% fee applies might be applied due to non-refundable charges from Stripe, in case we won't be allowed to renew the process to secure the funds. Alternatively, you can pay with cash on arrival or by bank transfer, ensuring the funds clear before you get the keys.
