DAMAGE DEPOSIT

Article 1 - Purpose of the Security Deposit 1.1. The Security Deposit is required by the property supplier to cover costs that may arise from actions or inactions of the guest(s) during their stay. These costs include but are not limited to: unreasonable cleaning requirements, loss or non-return of keys or remote control devices, damage to the property, furniture or amenities, loss or damage of contents, excessive use of electricity, and disturbances such as excessive noise or disregard for community rules. Article 2 - Compliance with Community Rules 2.1. Guests are expected to respect community rules. This includes not having more people on the property than specified at check-in, refraining from hosting parties or playing loud music after dark, and not playing excessively loud music during the day. Failure to comply with these rules can be a reason for non-refund of the Security Deposit, as it may be used to cover legal expenses related to complaints from neighbours or police. Article 3 - Cleaning and Waste Management 3.1. The cleaning fee included in the booking covers regular cleaning. If the property requires excessive cleaning due to the state it's left in, an extra cleaning fee will be charged, which will be deducted from the Security Deposit. 3.2. Guests are required to deposit their garbage in public bins daily. Failure to do so, leading to the need for disinfection of property bins, will be considered as damage and costs related will be deducted from the Security Deposit. Article 4 - Payment and Amount of Security Deposit 4.1. The amount of the Security Deposit, where applicable, will be provided in the booking offer and the Booking Confirmation email, along with payment instructions. 4.2. The Security Deposit is separate from the rental price and must be paid separately. 4.3. The property owner reserves the right to adjust the amount of the Security Deposit based on factors such as the number of guests, length of stay, or total price of the stay. Any such adjustment will be communicated before the booking is confirmed and detailed in the rental agreement. 4.4. If the Security Deposit is not paid, the property owner or manager may deny entry to the property and treat the booking as cancelled, retaining all amounts paid. Article 5 - Refund of Security Deposit 5.1. The Security Deposit will be refunded within seven days of departure, unless deductions are made as per Article 6. Article 6 - Damages and Deductions from Security Deposit 6.1. If damages are incurred during the guest's stay, the property owner will notify the guest as quickly as reasonably possible, and provide any necessary evidence. 6.2. The cost of remedial action will be deducted from the Security Deposit, and the balance refunded to the guest. 6.3. If damages require specialist attention, the balance of the Security Deposit may not be refunded within 14 days. 6.4. If damages are identified during the guest's stay, the guest must pay for these damages and replenish the Security Deposit immediately. Failure to do so may result in immediate eviction from the property. 6.5. If the cost of damages exceeds the Security Deposit, the property owner will notify the guest of the additional amount due. The guest is advised that the property owner reserves the right to recover any additional costs. Article 7 - Role of Hedo Villas 7.1. Hedo Villas will supervise the process and ensure fairness in any complaints from the property supplier. 7.2. Hedo Villas will enter into negotiations or arbitration between the guest and property supplier regarding the Security Deposit to ensure fairness. Article 8 - Methods of Payment 8.1. The Security Deposit can be paid by card at no extra cost for stays of 4 days or fewer. For stays of 6 days or longer, a 3% fee will apply due to non-refundable charges from the payment gateway, Stripe, thus only 97% of the deposit will be refunded. 8.2. Alternative methods of payment, 100% refundable, include cash on arrival (in the local currency), or bank transfer. If paid by bank transfer, funds must be cleared before the keys are delivered. Opt for this options to avoid the 3% non refundable charge on the card when the length of stay is more than 4 days. 8.3. If paid by card, payment must be made within 24 hours before arrival. This method is only valid for stays of up to 4 days and funds are automatically released after 7 days if there won't be damages. Please ensure you have read and understood these terms before agreeing to the booking and the Security Deposit terms.

In order to process the damage deposit via bank wire transfer, please be aware that it is not an automatic procedure, but one that requires manual handling.
Therefore, kindly ensure that you include the reference number of your contract when initiating your transfer.
Please be aware that the clearance of the bank wire transfer for the damage deposit is crucial for your check-in process. Transactions must be conducted in EUR (Euro) and completed with funds cleared prior to your arrival. Failure to do so may result in delays or inability to check in to your accommodation.
